Linnet " La Fuerza" Caban will be discussing how to overcome chronic illness with nutrition, fitness, and healing touch. Experience a group healing touch session and learn how to heal your own body holistically!

Linnet "La Fuerza" Caban, Owner of La Fuerza Fitness is a Certified Personal Trainer, Spiritual Intuitive,and Healing Touch Practitioner, and Nutrition Specialist, and Makeup Artist. She provides fitness classes and healing circles in an effort to promote healing in community and sisterhood. Linnet is a survivor of trauma and illness, she uses her experiences to help others heal and overcome trauma in hopes that they can manifest their dreams and live free

Love paint nights? Always wanted to attend a paint night? Well, we're bringing the paint night concept to WOC Weekend! Come solo or make it an afternoon date and leave with a self-made souvenir from the weekend. Spots are limited, so be sure to register for this workshop early! Supplies will be provided!

Writing Workshop w/ Porsha O

Need to put the pen to paper? Need some help pushing that writer's block out of the way? Then plan to attend this writing workshop with one of the nation's most renowned poets, Porsha O! Porsha Olayiwola is the 2014 Individual World Poetry Slam Champion and 2015 National Poetry Slam Champion. She bested more than seventy of the highest ranked slam poets in the world to earn these titles and is now one of the most sought after spoken word artists on the national circuit. Black, poet, lesbian, hip-hop feminist, womanist: Porsha separates herself from the field of issue-based performance poets by applying advanced political analysis to examine injustice while providing perspective on concrete solutions  A native of Chicago, Porsha now resides in Boston where she organizes, writes and teaches.

Innovating for Social Justice: How to Activate The Activists’
Michelle Antoinette Nelson will be discussing what it means to be a ‘Innovator for Social Justice,’ explaining the steps to discover your inner ‘Social Innovator’, the tools you will need for this type of activism, and the power you have to effectively change the narrative surrounding brown people.
 
Michelle Antoinette Nelson aka LOVE the poet is an artist, innovator, and Founder of Brown and Healthy a non-profit and  global health and wellness initiative for people of color. She's dedicated over a decade to her life's work to authoring books, plays, writing arts +  education curricula, and providing platforms for artists to explore and discover the true nature of their art. Michelle is an activist for social justice and a polymathic creator who is also known for her work as a published photographer, producer, musician, and actor.

The poolside dancing, the ladies who are easy on the eyes, the scandalous line dancing that you will warmly remember, it is all here. Be the envy of your friends' vacations this summer (unless you had the foresight to all come together) with all the priceless pictures & video that you are sure to capture here.

Everyone needs a good laugh and who better to deliver it than Sam Jay?! This young comic is blazing stages from the west coast to the east coast, and is excited to be returning to WoCW this year!

Just like Puffy would have held back in the day.  Just like a Jay-Z & Bey party.  Dress to impress-whether that is down or up is up to you. This is the grown & sexy party, just like every WOC+ event held this year. Whether you wanna Harlem Shake or lean & rock with it..from 2 step to Cupid Shuffle..our DJ plays an amazing mixture of dance hits, top 40, R& B and old school jams. 

Who doesn't need a lil sway music from time to time?  $10
